April 9, Pleasantville- The Setters turned up the heat against American International College (AIC), by scoring their way to a dominating 18-5 victory.

The win extends Pace's lacrosse win streak to three games. The Setters have also won six out of their last seven games.

Senior Justin Page led the Setters offense by scoring five goals on six shots on goal, while senior Ben Volen came off the bench to lead the Setters in assists with five. Volen also scored one goal in the game.

Yellow Jackets freshman Dan MacIssac led his team with two goals. Freshman Aaron McNab tallied up a team high of three assists in the match up.

The Setters started to pour on the goals early by going up 3-0 in the game's first seven minutes, ending with a man-up goal by Page.

Less than one minute later, AIC would get itself on the scoring board with a goal from sophomore Nick Abraham.

After the AIC goal, Pace would extend their lead to five after scoring three more goals before the end of the first quarter.

With the score 6-1 going into the second quarter, the Setters were looking to continue to pile on the goals. Sophomore Joe Page punched in his first and only goal of the game, bringing the score to 7-1 within the first two minutes of the second quarter.

Later in the second quarter with the score 8-2, the Setters became down one man after a delay of game penalty. The Yellow Jackets were able to take advantage of the extra man opportunity when junior Mike Szawloski scored to make it an 8-3 game.

Sophomore Jake Sheppard took advantage of a Pace extra man opportunity by scoring his second goal of the game with a little under six minutes remaining in the first half.

With three minutes remaining, the Setters tagged on four more goals before the end of the half, the last of the goals coming from junior Michael Mezzo.

Going into the third quarter, the Setters were already looking to put the Yellow Jackets away with a very comfortable 13-3 lead.

MacIssac would put a very tiny dent into AIC's deficit within the third quarter's first minute, by scoring a goal, bringing the score to 13-4.

About two minutes later, Justin Page would bring Pace's lead back to ten goals by scoring his fifth goal of the game.

MacIssac would try to tighten the deficit once again by scoring a second goal in the third quarter, making the score 14-5.

Junior T.J. Urban would score the final goal of the third quarter, during an extra man opportunity after a slashing penalty by the Yellow Jackets.

The fourth quarter, just like the rest of the game, was dominated by Pace.

Freshman Oren Taylor would extend Pace's lead to eleven after scoring his first goal of the season with eight minutes remaining in the match up.

After a goal scored by Volen, freshman Joe Arlotta punched in the eighteenth and final goal of the game with a little over three minutes left, giving the Setters the 18-5 win. Arlotta's goal was his first of the season.

The Setters improve to 6-3 overall with the victory and 3-1 in the Northeast-10 (NE-10) conference.

AIC falls to 1-6 overall and 0-6 in NE-10 conference play with the loss.

The next time the lacrosse team plays at home is April 17 at 4 p.m. against conference opponent Merrimack for the final home game of the season.
