The Pace community can get ready to see a lot more of a University wide committee that is geared towards educating and motivating young voters in the upcoming national presidential election.

Pace Votes 2008 is a committee under the Office of Government & Community Relations that consists of students, staff and faculty, and is headed by Vice President of University Relations, Doug Whiting. Livingston is only one of the many staff members on the committee, which is striving to mobilize voters.

"We're really trying to get students behind this now. We want them to take ownership and steward this," he said.

The committee meets once a month, and according to their mission statement posted on the Office of Government & Community Relations page of Pace.edu, they discuss issues such as "student financial aid, admissions, academic research and other policies at the intersection of government and education."

By visiting the Pace Votes 2008 webpage students can receive information on the Presidential candidates, activities that departments are planning, and registration information.
