Of the 8,030 enrolled undergraduates at Pace, less than half attend the Pleasantville campus. For some, this is a rewarding fact. For others, it brings them back to high school nostalgia.

Many may agree that word here travels with the speed of light. What I mean by this is essentially… gossip. I thought gossip days were over upon high school graduation, but I was surely wrong. Because the Pleasantville campus is so small and "hearsay"-inclined, most of the population knows who's dating who. In fact, I heard a freshman refer to another student by "The One Who's Dating That Chick."

How about the constant childish labeling? Many disputes and physical fights have occurred on campus because of this similar behavior. Rude remarks and unkind, catty stares should have been left in high school. We're all adults now. College is a time to not only make friends and memories that last a lifetime, but it should also be a means of networking for our futures and careers. Frankly, I feel there's no TIME to gossip at Pace. All I ever seem to have time for nowadays is Common Hour.

Whatever the case for you, one cannot deny the typical "college feel" when you're on the Pleasantville campus. According to sophomore New York campus resident Megan Oliver, who is currently taking two courses at Pleasantville, "The New York campus doesn't have half the social atmosphere like Pleasantville does."

Although New York and Pleasantville both include the daily Common Hours that we all know and love, New York probably celebrates their Common Hour busily treading and dining on the streets of Manhattan. On the other hand, Pleasantville is laidback, less city-oriented, and more "school-oriented," whether or not we like the food.

Even the wardrobes at both Pace campuses contrast. Students appear in their sweats, boots, and unraveled hair at Pleasantville. But New Yorkers are fully-made-up, with brand-named clothes, heels, and ready for a day on the town.

Let's not forget all the sports events are held at Pleasantville. This may also bring more of a school-spirited union for students.

No wonder Pace at Pleasantville can be seen as a high school-just with a Pace Setter twist of course.
