It is very frustrating to hear complaints in regards to The Paw Print that do not accompany constructive criticism. It is even more disheartening to hear such complaints come from students who have never attempted to get involved with the paper.

On a campus that has thousands of students, there are only 18 people on The Paw Print staff, with anywhere from one to maybe four featured writers a week. We are working with the bare minimum to put out an informative issue each week.

We invite feedback, both positive and negative, and we strongly encourage students to get involved and be heard. This is our school newspaper, and it is an opportunity to openly express yourself. To simply sit back and complain will not better the paper, and it will not better yourself. We truly work hard to try and achieve excellence, but we know that the newspaper is not perfect. It is the help of our peers that we need in order to truly succeed.

I urge students who have something to say, whether it be positive or negative, to say it. Get involved, and stand up for what you want and what you believe in. I invite you to be the change that you want to see. This is a chance to speak out. Take it and make it yours.
