"Pace University held its DU Male Revue auction, how much were you willing to pay?"

Every year, fraternity Delta Upsilon (DU) holds the DU Male Revue, and it is definitely their biggest event. This year it took place on Feb. 20, and was a huge hit. "The Point of the event is for the brothers to perform skits on stage, make fools of ourselves, and then auction ourselves off to the crowd," explained Oded Bahar, President of DU. A talent show also took place throughout the show which was held in the Wilcox gym.

The night was full of surprises, talents, and skits from Pace students and DU brothers. The talent show encompassed dancers, guitar players, rappers, and more. The crowd was hyped throughout the entire event, and Bahar can't recall one moment where the whole audience was not on the edge of their seats.

The show started off with the DU members dancing to what you might call a really bad can-can. The auction then took place, and the talent show was presented. After every brother was auctioned off, another act took the stage. Third place winners of the talent show were Casey Blake and Kystina Groce, who performed an original hip-hop dance. The Casanova Ladies, a salsa team which is a branch of OLAS, landed at second, also performing a unique dance. Takenya Roberts and Kevin Saunders took first place after performing a duet together that blew the crowd away.

By auctioning themselves, one might think the money would go into their pockets, but it doesn't, nor does it go to the fraternity's fund. DU usually holds this event to raise money for their philanthropy, Hold the Door Foundation, but this year they switched it up a little.

On Feb. 20th, the mother of alumni brother Guy Rella passed away after a long fight and struggle with Leukemia. Rella was supposed to be the host for the night, and the immediate thought was to postpone the show. Rella had told the DU members not to cancel the event and to keep it going, so that's exactly what they did.

DU began the show with a moment of silence for Rella's mother, and then dedicated the show in her honor. All the proceeds that were raised are going to the DU's Relay for Life Team, which Rella is the captain of.

"I hope it's as successful as last year and I just hope everyone has a good time laughing and just enjoying the night." DU member Brian Furlong stated before the event.

This year, DU even managed to have food provided by Lackmann, such as burgers, hotdogs, and pasta salad.

"As the president of this organization, I was very proud of the turnout we had this year. According to all of the DU Alumni that showed up, it was definitely the biggest male revue they have ever seen," Bahar stated.

The Alumni actually ended up auctioning themselves as well. One of the Alumni, when asked to "take it off", flashed his wedding band, but crowd couldn't have cared less.

Every DU brother went out in front of the audience, and got auctioned off. A few of brothers received particularly high bids, such as Charlie Piccoli, who made $250; Hamid Ghiasian who made $201, (who was outbid someone else by a dollar); Oded Bahar went for $180, and Andrew Williams went for $110. But the brother to receive a record breaking bid was Dave Nicolas, who went for $400.

The total amount collected throughout the night was $1950, a whole lot more than DU and most Pace students expected. Since the DU Male Revue, the frat's Relay for Life donation has doubled. Their goal is to be in first place of all the teams, as they are currently in third.

"It was awesome going out to see the guys shaking their things for a good cause," said junior Diana Haggerty.

"We liked the show because the guys from DU were really into it and it was nice to see all the Greeks come together," agreed students Danielle Riccardo and Angelica Kleyman. Other Greeks present at the event included Phi Sigma Sigma, Nu Zeta Phi, Alpha Phi Delta, Alpha Lambda Sigma, Delta Phi Epsilon, and more.

"Great turn out, very successful for DU, crowd enjoyed it, funny, entertaining, but was disturbing for me and some guys, but for the girls I'm pretty sure it was a blast. The talent show was decent, I liked some performers; LB rapping, Casey and Krystina dancing, Oded and Brian singing a song from Tenacious D, and Casanova Ladies salsa dance routine," said Paw Print featured writer Eric Chandaragga.

Who said Pace doesn't have any good events? DU may just have showed the people that Greek life isn't all about being Greek, and is actually trying to reach out to all communities. And having awesome events where you get to see half naked guys, it's a win-win situation.
