Associate Director of Adult Services, Ingrid E. Barnes, 47, passed away on February 4 from colon cancer. On February 5, the great state of New York celebrated champions, folks that gave it their all, and made us proud. We will always celebrate Ingrid and the life she lived, the fight she fought and the one that in the end, she beat. Her passing may have ended her life, but for thousands of people around the world it will never end the relationship that she had with each and every one of us. Till we meet again, you are gone but will never be forgotten!

"Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free

I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard him call;

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way;

I found that place at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss;

Ah yes, these things, I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savored much;

Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seems all to brief;

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now, He set me free."

Her wake will be held this Saturday, February 9 at the Greenwich Village Funeral Home on 199 Bleecker Street New York City, 10012. The time is to be announced.
