Even though Christina Aguilera's pop princess days are over, she is still heading positively forward in both her career, and her family.

On November 4th, she officially announced that her and her long time hubby Jordan Bratman are expecting their first child together. They have told the press that they are ready to welcome their new baby boy into the family.

Christina Marie Aguilera was born on December 18th, 1980, and is now known as an American Pop singer and songwriter.

She was born to an Ecuadorian father, Fausto Aguilera and an Irish decent mother, Shelly Kearns who are both fluent in Spanish. Growing up together along with her four siblings, Michael, Casey, Rachel, and Stephanie, Christina had early in her life realized that she wanted to be a singer.

She was first signed to RCA Records after recording "Reflection" for the film Mulan. She came to prominence following her debut album entitled Christina Aguilera in 1999, which was an immediate critical and commercial success. A Latin pop album, and a Christmas album, followed soon after and launched her into music history.

Aguilera took creative control over her second studio album, Stripped in 2002, which received mixed reviews and produced substantial sales. The overtly sexual image that she displayed during the promotion of her album became the subject of intense criticism and ridicule.

Mayor of Hollywood, Johnny Grant, announced that in 2008, Aguilera will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Not only that, but Rolling Stone confirmed that Christina is back in the studio with DJ Premiere for Aretha Franklin's new duet album.

In June 2007, Aguilera said that she was gathering inspiration for her next album, which she said would be short and sweet, and completely different from her previous, but she did not elaborate on what style it would be.

In an interview with Blender magazine, she stated that recording a song with her once rival Eminem is on her agenda. She will also appear in the upcoming Martin Scorsese documentary Shine a Light.

Christina has been quite busy this past year, but she also admits to wanting to pursue a Hollywood acting career, and she has been reading over many scripts looking for the perfect role. She admits that she wants to choose a role similar to the ones that Angelina Jolie has chosen.

Critics however, are shocked to find that she has developed a close relationship with public whipping post Britney Spears. She has even went as far to publicly defend Britney, claiming that she is "indeed a good mother."

She was also seen Christmas shopping for Britney's two sons.

Christina has come a long way, and has been quite successful. Lately it seems she is out of the spotlight, but she is concentrating on her family right now, and looking forward to welcoming her son into the world in January 2008.
