On November 30, Student Nurses of Pace (SNAP) is sponsoring a trip to the museum, Bodies: The Exhibition in NYC. This museum shows art in a different perspective than paintings and drawings.

Bodies: The Exhibit shows different dissections of actual human bodies giving viewers a three dimensional view of the inside of the human body. The bodies at the museum are dissected to show whatever the artist wants to display and then preserved to prevent decay.

Secretary of SNAP, Jennifer Meany, had the opportunity to attend the trip two years ago. She described her experience as "shocking." She couldn't believe that she was able to see in so much detail what a human body genuinely looks like. Meany stated that models were so detailed to the point that they "separate[d] every vein and artery."

When asked if this would be a trip that all majors would enjoy, she replied that it definitely would be. Meany says that, "It's something everyone can enjoy because it shows your body in so many ways." There are models of various sports players in different positions, ranging from shooting a basketball to running with a football. For sports players, this is a great way to learn and see all muscles that are used when in action.

Different systems of the body are shown as well, including the muscular system and neurological system.

Furthermore, there are models with only organs displayed. For example, there is a healthy lung on display next to a smoker's lung. There are also hearts, livers, kidneys, and brains shown. All of which, give an individual a large spectrum to learn from.

For an opportunity to see these extraordinary creations, SNAP will be sending an e-mail to all engaged Pleasantville students. The first 40 students to reply will have the chance to see an up-close-and-personal view of a human body for themselves.
