Not like other celebrities

Shia LaBeouf has presented himself in the media as being different than other celebrities. He has even gone on to explain himself on late night talk shows saying how he won't be caught out at clubs, drinking, embarrassing himself, and getting into the typical Hollywood adolescent troubles.
"Work is important to me and I treat it important and it's been good to me," LaBeouf previously told Access Hollywood. "It's like one of the best relationships I've had with anything. It's been really good to my family so you gotta be good to it. Perception sometimes is more important than performance. If people perceive you as a good actor then they'll wish for you to be a good actor and they'll root for you when they watch you but if you come out and you're going to clubs every night and people don't root for you anymore."
But it seems as if he was due for a scandal, because he was arrested this past weekend at a Chicago Walgreens, allegedly drunk and refusing to leave the premises. It was around 2:30am that LaBeouf had to be detained by a Security guard and forced out of the store.
When he got outside, he was immediately taken by the police, and held there until 7 am, when he was released on bail. He was charged with criminal trespassing.
But police spokeswoman Laura Kubiak released the statement claiming that once he arrived at the police station, he was very "courteous and polite," and did as he was told with no questions asked.
Sources close to LaBeouf are also defending him. They say they are outraged by the police reports because there was no test to confirm his sobriety, and they say that he had a good reason for not wanting to leave when he was taken out. We won't get to hear his side of the story until November 28 when he is due in court.
LaBeouf has received much success this past year with his movies "Disturbia" and "Transformers." A rising star from the Disney Channel original series, "Even Stevens," he has been steadily rising in popularity.
He is expected to gain many accolades for his newest movie, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," which stars Harrison Ford and Cate Blanchett. The movie is due to be released next year.
It is doubted that this scandal would turn anyone away from the movie. It is being directed by Steven Spielberg, and it is predicted that LaBeouf will just receive a slap on the wrist at most.
Some fans are disappointed in this news, saying that it is a shame that he presented himself as different, but then goes ahead and gets himself arrested. They are already assuming that he will continue down the path of other Hollywood stars under 30.
But other fans have disagreed saying that it's hardly a big deal, and they are waiting to hear LaBeouf's side of the story before they condemn him. He wasn't given a breathalyzer, and even if he was drunk, he is of age and can do as he pleases.
It also says that someone was with him at the Chicago store, but that information has yet to be released since LaBeouf has not given a public statement.
Before anyone blames him, and throws him to the sharks of public condemnation, wait until November 28th when LaBeouf's voice can be heard.
