"Can the legendary band keep up with the times?"

Sept. 25th marked that release date of the Foo Fighters latest effort Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace.

Once again Dave Grohl and the boys have found the perfect combination of dynamics, grunge, acoustic, and whatever other kind of magic they use to keep making amazing albums.

Since the release of their acoustic version of "Times like These" the Foo Fighters have become almost as well known for their acoustic songs as they are for their hard rock songs.

Tracks like "Home" and "Come Alive" keep this tradition alive, and even add a new twist in the form of the piano.

Echoes truly brings the raw emotions out of the group.

On the track "The Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners" the group takes a bluegrass approach to the track, and Grohl puts all of his emotions on the table.

The song was written about an Australian Mining Tragedy that occurred in 2006. Apparently one of the surviving miners asked for an iPod full of Foo Fighter songs while he waited to be rescued. Not only does the song have an amazing story, but it is an excellent show of musicianship. It is a great acoustic song using great finger picking technique rhythms.

The Album's single, "The Pretender" is a powerhouse of a song.

It's starts off with a dynamic mix of soft acoustic, and then works its way up to some in your face Rock, with amazing vocals in between. The song truly hits you hard and is still unbelievably catchy.

It is rare to see a group able to do that, but it appears that the Foo Fighters have this formula down pat.

Over all Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace is a great, dynamic album. If you like anything else by the Foo Fighters you will like this one as well. I personally cannot stop listening to "The Pretender" and the rest of the album is just as good.

The average rating on iTunes is four and a half stars out of five, and the album has gotten rave reviews from just about everywhere.

David Grohl just keeps solidifying his place in Rock and Roll history with this album.

From the time he was a drummer with Nirvana until now; he has done nothing but been a consistent hit machine.

As one of the truly good people in rock today, it's nice to see someone like Grohl have the success that he has enjoyed over the last sixteen years.
