The family of self proclaimed Wiener King, Charlie Piccoli III, and brother Michael Piccoli, both students at Pace University, have recently opened a restaurant in Thornwood, just around the corner from campus.
The Piccoli's, long time residents of Valhalla, have been in the food business for over seventeen years. They started with their famous hot dog truck located in Millwood, a long time favorite lunch time stop for motorists and neighbors. Their new restaurant, creatively named Charchael's after the two Piccoli sons, has been opened for nearly a month and already has many loyal customers.
The spot is open seven days a week, and offers a large variety of food at reasonable prices. The tables are decorated with hotdog figurines, and the walls are decorated with wishes of good luck written on dollar bills. Above the register is a picture of the late and beloved Charles Piccoli, the boys Grandfather, who was the original founder of the Charchael's hot dog truck along with their father, Piccoli II.
Though Charchael's is most famous for their Sabrett hotdogs piled with Tina Piccoli's delicious homemade toppings, the menu does not end there. The extensive food assortment can make choosing your lunch nearly impossible with a variety of food such as their homemade cheeseburgers, chili cheese fries, chicken wings (with the Weiner King's secret sauce in three options of mild, hot, or extra hot if you're brave enough), a combination of fresh deli sandwiches, clam rolls, Philly cheese steaks, and more.
Charchael's even caters to vegetarians with healthy options of veggie burgers, and creative salad combinations, including Mamma Piccoli's famous spinach and strawberry salad. Your afternoon at Charchael's doesn't have to end after you've finished your lunch with the vast possibilities for dessert offered by the youngest out of the family, Alexa Piccoli.
For those of you with a sweet tooth, Alexa's Sweets and Treats consist of freshly baked cookies, the family's famous banana bread (a personal favorite), and famous Long ford's ice cream, which you can't just find anywhere. Along with the extensive options of ice cream flavors, Charchael's also provides seasonal flavors like cranberry apple cobbler.
Many customers are already hooked to the milkshakes and hot fudge sundaes. In just a short amount of time, the Piccoli's restaurant is already a huge local success. So the morning after a hard night out, try some chili cheese fries or a chili dog, or a massive amount of wings for a Sunday football game, just stop by Charchael's to get the job done. "Charchael's is the elite meat to eat, so come down, enjoy, and you'll be hooked for life," says the royal Weiner King himself, Charlie Piccoli III.
Whenever you're in the mood for good food, or are just plain sick of Kessel, stop by Charchael's located at 802 Commerce Street (a minute drive after a right at the light by Abis), open seven days a week.
