Apple has not only come out with the best selling MP3 player, but they have continued to come out with more and more interesting and fun electronics since 2001 when the first iPod appeared. Since 2001, Apple has sold over 100 million iPods and is the leader in sold MP3 players.

During the past year, Apple has come out with the Apple iPhone and recently, the new iPod Touch. Apple has also, once again, redesigned the original iPod Nano to be even smaller in size. The iPod Touch is a combination between the iPhone and iPod without the functions of a cell phone. This means that you can still use the Wi-Fi Wireless and still have the touch screen.

The new iPod Nano however, is now even smaller. It only weighs two ounces and is small enough to fit under a credit card (www.washingtonpost.com). If you are wondering about the prices, they remain at about the same. A 4gigabyte (GB) will run you $149 and an 8GB will run you $199.

What are the advantages? It allows you to play videos and games as well as audio and photos. The Nano's two inch screen delivers excellent quality in terms of images, and it can even plug it into a TV using a $49 adapter.

It is just as easy to use as before, with the turn dial, and will charge the same way as well. Another plus is that the battery will now last you over 26 hours of music playback and six hours of movie viewing. Also, when not playing a tune, the screen will split into an iPod menu list on one side, and a preview image of an album cover on the other.

The new Nano will come in different colors than its ancestors. It will be available in silver, black, cranberry, light blue, and light green.

Overall, it will have a much better screen quality and it will allow you to do more things on it than the previous iPods.

The iPod Touch on the other hand will attract to the people who wish they had the iPhone without the two year contract. As stated before, it will allow you to do all the things the iPhone does without the phone function. To adjust the screen bigger and smaller, you simply have to touch it. The same goes for everything else such as typing, searching the Web, and volume control.

It includes video, music, and photos; but unlike the iPhone, it won't have e-mail, a camera, or notepad. It is two thirds the size of the iPhone and slightly wider. You can download music, look up directions, put things on a calendar, watch movies, go onto YouTube, and more. You can buy an 8GB for $299 or a 16 GB for $399.

Some people have mixed feelings about Apple's new inventions. Some say that the new Nano is too small and that the chances of breaking it, dropping it, or scratching it are higher. Also, some people believe that the iPod Touch isn't worth it. Having the internet without e-mail may not make sense to some consumers.

In addition to Apple making these changes, they have also stated that they have dropped the 4GB iPhone from the market and it is now only available in the 8GB form for $399. Consumers have been stating their frustration about this. Because Apple decided to change the price now, people are upset because they paid the original $599.

The company will refund $200 to anyone who purchased the iPhone within 14 days before the price was dropped. However, if you do not fall under that category, Apple has stated that they will give you a $100 store credit.

If Apple can come out with two new electronics in the past year, it will be exciting to see what is in store for the future.
