We have all been through a lot this year with our girl Britney Spears. We've jumped for joy when we saw her on Letterman, shook our heads when she paraded around town with Paris Hilton, wept when she shaved her head, got frustrated with her rehab stints, and all pretended we didn't see the awful and embarrassing umbrella incident.

It's been a long and winding road for us as fans who have tried to stick by her. However, her ultimate come back may be coming in the form of her new single 'Get Back' which has sky rocketed up the charts this past week! Not to mention a surprise album being released in just two weeks that has been kept under wraps for months.

The world's most famous pop princess has been working to release a remix LP entitled 'B in the Mix' that she has purposely kept secret for over a year. She has decided to do so without the pressure of the press and advertising that usually surrounds an album release.

Despite the label's efforts to keep the information hidden, word has slowly trickled out about the album's contents, including its sole new track 'And Then We Kissed.' It will be a compilation of her old songs remixed by DJs such as Stuart Price and Peter Rauhofer (known for their work with Madonna).

'Breathe on Me' which is one of Britney's most famous tunes is the first track on the CD. Price is calling this his 'Thin White Duke Mix' because he has slowed the beat down and gave the song a dark and slightly off-key sound. It subtly repeats the word 'Blow' and 'Put your Lips together" lyric over and over.

Her song 'Touch of my Hand' has become an eight minute remix monster where Britney's voice becomes chopped up into syllables and blends in to become the beat of the song.

Other songs on this album include 'Me Against the Music' featuring Madonna (Justice remix), "Toxic" (Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction mix), "I'm a Slave 4 U" (Dave Aude Slave Driver mix), "Everytime" (Valentin remix), "Early Mornin' " (Jason Nevins remix), "Someday (I Will Understand)" (Hi-Bias Signature radio remix), "... Baby One More Time" (Davidson Ospina 2005 remix) and "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know" (Hex Hector club mix).

The most excitement currently surrounds her only new track "And Then We Kissed." It is a song that describes a magical make-out session that leaves her trembling crying and moaning. It is based on the reality of more undisclosed parts of her life. Some of the lyrics are "Your love comes alive on my lips/ I feel a rush coming over and over me/ And when we touch/ This moment when everything's still/ I close my eyes/ And then we kiss." It has a sultry techno beat with orchestral overtones closing the song out.

Spears is not appearing on the cover art for the album (with an exception for the Japanese version) but it instead depicts a colorful butterfly that she has designed herself. There is no known reason yet of why she has chosen to do this. Even though the exact look of the cover art remains a mystery.

Some of the albums tracks have leaked on the internet infuriating Britney and all those who have worked tirelessly to keep this album a surprise and a secret.

After an eventful year, Britney is attempting to positively resurface onto the music scene. Unfortunately, this past weekend at the Video Music Awards might have sealed her fate.

Britney's performance at the MTV Video Music Award's was surrounded by hype and excitement. It was to be her first live performance in over two years! Spectators expected the pop sensation they know and love to blow everyone away with an outrageous show. All those tuned in were assuming they would be talking about this performance for days! They did not know however, that it would be in a negative light.

Many were appalled at her lack of energy and stage presence. She did her dance move half heartedly, lip-synched the entire song with an apparent lack of enthusiasm. Not to mention wearing lingerie that did not compliment her. Hopefully she can recover from this public criticism.

Could this be Spear's ultimate comeback? Is the world willing to accept their pop diva back with open arms? Will her fans buy her new album? Can they forgive the memorable actions of the past year? My guess is of course.

Britney has loyal and devoted fans scouring the globe despite her cringe worth events of 2007. Her new album is expected to fly off the shelves even without the marketing frenzy.

Two weeks time will tell if she has in fact, made her ultimate comeback.
