"What we do in life echoes in eternity." That is the quote Russell Crowe's character, Maximus said to his troops in the monster hit, Gladiator. What we do at Pace echoes for future students at this University. I know it sounds a little corny but I do believe in this quote. Not only do I believe in this, but I also hope that it applied to my own time at Pace University.

For the past four years I have tried my best to make an impact at Pace. Getting involved early allowed me to experience much of what this University has to offer. I cannot fully explain what Pace meant to me, but I can begin to tell you what kind of impact the school has made on me.

When I first came to Pace, I was just like any other freshman: anxious and a little nervous, but excited about what college life might hold in store. But once I started making friends, I found that Pace was a very enjoyable place. I could never understand hearing people say that they did not or do not have a good time at Pace because there was no question that I took advantage with what I had.

I've worked for the radio station, the student government, the athletic department, and the school newspaper. I also joined a fraternity, and I have cherished all the people who I met during the process.

I am so appreciative of the opportunities that I was given while at Pace. I really do believe that if I was at any other school I would not have been able to do some of the things that I did. I could not have done anything without people from the communications department, my newspaper staff, Alpha Phi Delta fraternity, and SDCA. Through it all, I received constant encouragement and support from my close friends and family who I love dearly.

I often joke about how I am going to be severely depressed after I graduate, but I truly will be sad when my time is done with Pace University. I cannot begin to tell you the various people I have met and the relationships I have made.

A baseball player will tell you that the moment they step on the field after a long off season, they remember the smells that are so recognizable. A player will tell you the exact smell of a baseball after putting it to his face. The cool of the grass, the infield dirt on the cleats, the crack of the bat. These are all the sights, sounds, and smells that a baseball player inevitably misses when he is not playing the game he loves. This is the same kind of feeling I will undoubtedly have when I leave this University.

The townhouse parties, walking in and out of Kessel, talking to so many people around campus, staying up past 6 a.m. more than three times a week, discussing random topics, coming up with games that really shouldn't be games, playing Mario Kart on Nintendo 64 while everyone else is playing Halo 2 on Xbox 360, Friday night tournaments, Spring break trips, senior year cruise, Thanks Giving and Christmas dinner with 47 close friends, editing until all hours of the night, starting eight page papers four hours before the whole thing is due, pledging for a fraternity, watching others pledge your fraternity, Greek Olympics, Bagel Café trips, wiffle ball, Townhouse 2 (what is left of it), school trips (mostly the bus rides there and back), concerts, comedy clubs, having meaningless debates at 4 a.m. on who you would rather be in terms of the various people in your posters that you have on the wall or which starburst flavor ranks higher than the rest, Setter sporting events, cheap beer, Frank & Joe's Deli, late night Rocky runs, waking up at 3:30 p.m. on a Friday because Pace really doesn't want you to have class on Fridays, four a day trips to SARS/OSA because your financial aid never makes sense on paper, board games, not getting written up when you clearly should be, and most of all the people. These are sights, sounds, and smells that I will from this school.

To the class of 2007, I will miss all of you very dearly. The Briarcliff crew, the Greeks here, and Death Row. Many of you have meant so much to me that I don't know what I am going to do without you. To not be able to walk over to a given townhouse or dorm room after a long night is going is going to make me unbelievably miserable. I have become very close with some of you, you all know who you are; you're like my second family. Life will never be the same, but I know there is only the best to come. I love you all. God Bless
