Elvis weddings aren't just for Las Vegas anymore. Now one Michigan minister is bringing the King on the road to couples everywhere.
Greg Jaqua is an Elvis tribute artist from Michigan who was ordained through the Universal Life of Church years ago. He was inspired to renew his license by a couple who wanted to go to Vegas but could not afford to travel.
After that, Jaqua decided to combine spirituality with pleasure and took his act on the road.
"We bring a little of the Vegas experience to them," he told reporters. "I got the idea for this several years ago and started doing weddings last year."
Thus far, Jaqua and his mobile wedding chapel have performed three weddings and are looking forward to many more.
Jaqua started his career as a guitarist for another Elvis impersonator and has been doing that work ever since.
His first Elvis appearance was in 1995 at a 40th birthday party. Since then he has done a number of appearances and won the grand champion of Michigan's Elvis Fest Impersonator Contest in 2005.
With 12 years of experience as an Elvis tribute artist under his belt, he is excited about the new dimension of his work.
