New York Knicks owner James Dolan held a press conference this past Monday morning at the Madison Square Garden Training Center in Greenburgh to announce that Head Coach Isiah Thomas has been given a multi year contract extension to remain head coach and general manager of the team.
Dolan made the announcement after saying in December he would wait until the end of the season if Thomas and the Knicks made evident progress or not. Already the Knicks have six more wins than all of last year and still have 19 more game to play.
They are currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Thomas has been praised for a tremendous turnaround in the play of young and talented center Eddy Curry as well as his great knack for young talent such as David Lee, Channing Frye and Renaldo Balkman.
